The west side of Arizona
River towns, desert heat and a lot of winter neighbors
Yuma, Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City and Kingman sit a long drive from Phoenix, and each has its own rhythm. Yuma and Lake Havasu City fill up with winter visitors from roughly November to April. Bullhead City and Fort Mohave look across the Colorado River to Laughlin. Kingman has more full-time residents and cooler winters up on the high desert.
What they share is distance. Getting a tub or shower to western Arizona takes planning, and so does getting it installed on a day you are home. That is what this page is about.
Winter visitors are a big part of life here. One ASU study found that winter visitors staying 30 days or more had an economic impact of over $450 million in the Yuma area in 2017 to 2018. Many of them live in park-model homes, manufactured homes and RV resorts, which need their own kind of bathroom plan.

Park-model and manufactured homes
Small bathrooms need a different plan, not a lesser one
A park-model or manufactured home can absolutely get a safer bathroom. These are the four things we check first.
Floor strength
A walk-in tub full of water and a person weighs a lot more than an empty standard tub. In a home built on a frame, we check that the floor under the tub can carry that weight, and we tell you if it needs support first.
Doors and hallways
Many walk-in tubs are 26 to 32 inches wide, and doors in smaller homes are often narrow. A shower kit that comes in panels fits through tight spaces when a one-piece tub cannot.
Plumbing under the home
Drains and supply lines often run under the floor behind the skirting. That can make plumbing easier to reach, but older lines and fittings sometimes need replacing. Your written quote will say so.
Park and HOA rules
Many resorts and 55+ parks have rules about contractors, work hours and parking. Check with your park office before install day so there are no surprises at the gate.
In the smallest bathrooms, a roll-in shower with a fold-down seat is often the most practical choice. If you love to soak, ask about compact walk-in tubs before you rule a tub out. You can also browse handicap shower options from Aging Safely Baths to see shapes and sizes.
Timing
Scheduling around the November to April season
If you spend winters in Yuma or Lake Havasu City, the worst outcome is ordering a tub in February and leaving for the summer before it goes in. A little planning avoids that.
- Start the conversation early. Call over the summer or early fall. We can talk through options by phone and review photos you or a neighbor send.
- Measure soon after you arrive. A measurement visit or a careful photo review confirms the model and the path into the home.
- Install while you are here. Many installs take as little as one day once the product arrives, so you still get months of use before you head home.
Our snowbird timing guide covers this in more detail, including what to do if you plan to rent the home out.
Summer heat still matters
Full-time residents know that summer in Yuma, Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City is hot. In Arizona summers the "cold" line can come out near 100 degrees, so a bath can run warmer than you expect.
A fast drain and an anti-scald valve help keep bathing comfortable. Ask your doctor about hot water, blood pressure and circulation before using a warm soak.

Getting it here
Delivery and installation in western Arizona
Installed for you
Factory-certified installers remove the old fixture, set the new tub or shower, connect the plumbing and clean up. We group installs by region so remote addresses get the same care as the Phoenix metro.
How installation works →Supply-only delivery
If you already have a licensed contractor in Yuma or Mohave County, we ship the tub or shower kit to your home. Someone needs to be there to check the crate before signing.
Supply-only details →Distance changes a few details. A one-piece tub travels by freight, so we confirm the street address, any gate codes and whether a truck can reach the house. Homes on hillsides above Lake Havasu City or on dirt roads outside Kingman and Golden Valley may need a smaller truck or a few extra hands. If something about the route worries us, we say so before you order, not on delivery day.
Kingman and Bullhead City also have many full-time residents who live in single-story ranch homes and stay year-round. For them, timing is easier, and the bigger question is often whether to keep a tub at all or switch to a curbless shower that works for years to come.
Prices vary a lot by model, features and how much bathroom work your home needs. Your free written quote shows every cost up front. Every quote is free and written, and you can take as long as you like to decide.
Help paying
Veterans and funding in Yuma and Mohave counties
Northern Arizona VA Health Care runs clinics in Lake Havasu City and Kingman. Veterans in Yuma can ask their own VA care team the same question. The HISA grant pays up to $6,800 over a lifetime for a service-connected condition or a 50% or higher rating, and up to $2,000 for other veterans eligible for VA care. A VA physician must prescribe it.
Original Medicare generally does not cover walk-in tubs or shower conversions. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer limited home-safety benefits, so call your plan. Our Arizona funding guide lists every program worth checking.

FAQ
Questions Arizona families ask
Is the floor of a Yuma park-model home strong enough for a filled walk-in tub?
Sometimes, but it has to be checked. A walk-in tub full of water and a bather weighs far more than an empty standard tub, and park-model floors sit on a frame. We look at the floor and supports first and tell you in writing if reinforcement is needed, or suggest a lighter shower kit instead.
Do you serve Parker, Quartzsite and other La Paz County towns?
Yes. We install and deliver in Parker, Quartzsite, Ehrenberg, Salome and the rest of La Paz County. Remote addresses take more planning, so we confirm the delivery route and install date in your written quote.
Can you deliver a walk-in tub to Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City or Kingman?
Yes. We install and deliver throughout Mohave, Yuma and La Paz counties. Supply-only orders ship to your home for your own licensed contractor, and your written quote spells out how and when delivery happens.
Can someone else receive a supply-only delivery if I am not in Arizona yet?
Usually yes, if a neighbor, family member or your contractor can meet the truck and check the crate for damage before signing. Tell us who will be there and we will share the delivery details with them. If no one can receive it, we can plan the delivery date around your arrival.
Where can veterans in Lake Havasu City or Kingman ask about a VA bathroom grant?
Northern Arizona VA Health Care runs clinics in both Lake Havasu City and Kingman. Ask your primary care team there about the HISA grant, which a VA physician must prescribe. We provide the itemized estimate and photos the application needs.
Can a roll-in shower fit through the narrow door of a park-model home?
Usually yes. Many shower kits come in panels that are carried in one piece at a time, so they fit through doors a one-piece tub cannot. Send us the width of the narrowest door on the way to the bathroom and we will confirm before ordering.
Bathe safely again, without leaving home.
